Good Night, Irene

It really is over. The media, Senator Clinton, and others just don't want to let it go. Why?

The Daily Kos has an article referring to this article found on Politico.com.

Why do the Democrats put up with this shit?

And, this:

God didn't call America to engage in a senseless, unjust war. . . . And we are criminals in that war. We've committed more war crimes almost than any nation in the world, and I'm going to continue to say it. And we won't stop it because of our pride and our arrogance as a nation. But God has a way of even putting nations in their place.

Is It Over?

Thanks to Ezra Klein for this short diversion from the Democratic Primary lunacy -- an awareness test.

And, a GREAT look at the 2008 Democratic Presidential Primaries.......

make it stop

Just Don't

I once saw a terrific political cartoon featuring Debbie Stabenow with a cartoonish exploded-cigar smut- covered face. The topic of the satire was Ms. Stabenow's little game of chicken with the then Republican-controlled Michigan Legislature. She got baited into proposing the end of public school funding from local property taxes. The Republicans accepted and suddenly Michigan was without a means to finance its K-12 public school systems. We got stuck with "Proposal A" and the many attempts to tweak it since.

The Michigan Democratic Party played loose with the rules for the Democratic Presidential Primaries and it blew-up in their faces. Now, they want a do-over. I don't remember getting any do-overs in my lifetime. I can't imagine that after a batter strikes-out he would insist he get to take another turn at bat. Hey, Michigan Dems, you phucked-up and you will survive the consequences!

As much as I would like to re-join the Democratic Party just so I could vote in a Michigan Do-oer, it just isn't right. Our decisions have consequences. To, in any way, "reward" Michigan Democrats with a chance to participate in the Obama-Clinton drama would be simply wrong. Sorry, your leaders messed up. Elect better leaders.

Now, that I've said my piece about Michigan. I could give a rat's ass about Florida. Treat them differently. Wouldn't that send a consistent message about democracy? Then, explain why Joe Liebermann is allowed to hold Senate committee assignments reserved for loyal Democrats?

I just want it to be over. Give it up, Hillary! Do the math. Yadda yadda yadda....

Stop the bloodletting....

Loreto, Mexico

I saw The Scream on one of my daily reads recently. It aptly shows Memo's reaction to what Dr. Polo's scales told him today. I was less hysterical after my turn. I've never had to toggle the big weight from 80 to 100 before today. I had to leave it on the 80 kilo mark and move the slide all the way to the 20 kilo end mark. Enough.

I found this article in the New York Times today. It describes a new housing development in Baja California, Mexico. It suggests that with the Boomers retiring many may find themselves doing so in Mexico.

If the vision of the Mexican government and an American developer is realized, a decade from now Loreto Bay will include 6,000 homes, from small condos to 3,800-square-foot custom houses, most of them probably to be owned by American retirees or part-time residents.

That's okay. 'Xcept, let's not let Axixic get too crowded.

Just Quit II

Dear Hillary,

Please stop. I ended my Friends of Hillary membership at the first sign of your pandering to special interests. I quit the Democratic Party as Democrats gave in to torture and the loss of Constitutional authority. Now, I cannot support the negative turn you have taken in this primary race.

Please stop. I want to support the Democratic Party and its candidate. I won't if you stay in the race until the Convention.

Please.

Stop.

Su Casa

We just saw the movie Vantage Point. We saw it in English with Spanish subtitles. As the movie takes place in Spain, it was interesting to see what they did with the subtitles when someone spoke Spanish. And, at 20 pesos each, the movie was a bargain.

My brother keeps complaining that I am tardy in sending him pictures of the house we are renting. After having some problems with a camera and having bought a new one, I haven't any more excuses. Funny thing, though....we tried some batteries brought from the States in the old --- and allegedly broken --- camera and it works.

This is our house. The property is very long and of course you can't tell that we have two bedrooms, two baths, a backyard, a mirador, and lots of space for our growing family. Do you see the mountain behind us?

Checking In

Our local TelMex internet server needed prodding to get us back online this afternoon. We think that we lost our service sometime on Friday, the 28th. We probably would have been up sooner had I called around to find the telephone number for an Engish speaking Prodigy service person. My Spanish is good, but not that good. Anywho, I can READ!

My sister left yesterday after a great visit. We got off our butts and went on some tours with her. We'll have to make sure we go on some more of the local tours when someone's coming to visit. I want to see where Michigan's (and Ontario's and all those other places) Monarch butterflies go to winter. As I still say, I have the rest of my life to see all the local and national sites.

We visited the pyramids at Teuchitlan on Friday. Incredible.

Later.
