What Hatred Does in the Name of God

Two cynical haters in Iowa want to amend a section of the Iowa Law protecting students from bullying and harassment.  They do not want to expand anyone's right to a bully and harassment free public and non-public education.  They want to REPEAL the protections already granted by Iowa law to gay and lesbian students and those facing bullying and harassment for gender identity issues.  Yep.  Progress......

The two haters claim that their hateful actions were motivated by their desire to force a vote on a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.  This rationale is particularly hilarious considering the opposition to same-sex marriage always claim they want to protect children.  Let's see -- we can protect children by allowing other children, teachers, and other adults to BULLY and HARASS the children that they deem its okay to HARM.

Thank you, State Representatives Jason Schultz, R-Schleswig, and Matt Windschitl, R-Missouri Valley.  Your faithful service to the Lord has been duly noted.......

From the Iowa Pride Network:

Iowa's 2007 Safe Schools Law protects ALL students from harassment and bullying in Iowa ’s schools.

“When our state is facing record budget deficits and unemployment, House Republicans feel their time is best spent picking on Iowa ’s LGBT youth,” said Ryan Roemerman, Executive Director of Iowa Pride Network.  “There is no better example as to why we have this law, so youth in Iowa don’t grow up to be like these bigots.”

What a sad couple of Jerks.

As a child I do not remember wondering if it was legal to bully a child. That was never brought up when one child would bully another. Kids don't care.

Along the same lines, schools will stop any bullying of a child with or without a law in the books to stop bullying.
